Cleaning Up

March 19, 2009

Read: John 2:13-22

What needs cleaning up in your spiritual life?  What you read?—- What you desire?—-What you do with your gifts, skills, and talents?—Where you hang out?—-Your relationships in your life?

Jesus went to the temple to let the Jews know that he was their Savior.  He even told them, he would die and be raised from the dead in three days for their sins.  They didn’t understand what he told them because they didn’t have their hearts open to receive him.  They did not believe his authority as to the fact that he was their Savior.

Jesus promises us that by giving our lives to him completely that he will be there for us forever.  Picking us up when we are down and out, walking beside us through the tough times and staying with us all the way through those times.  Jesus didn’t promise us a smooth and straight path to heaven but by his grace he promised us a life with him forever in his father’s mansion.  Jesus died on the cross and rose on the third day for all our sins.  Even though we are sinners he is there for us every second of every day.

All Jesus wants from us is for us to open the door to our heart and let him in.  Letting him take complete control of our lives, surrendering our worries, our health, our finances, our love to him.  Jesus loves us and wants us safe in his arms.  By giving your life to Christ you have started to cleanup your life for him.

Prayer

Our Heavenly Father open our hearts that we can receive your love and grace.  Lord, thank you for allowing your son Jesus Christ to die for our sins.
