Read: Matthew 6:1-6, 16-21

These words of scripture bring to mind the “prayer stations” we set up in our church during Holy Week. Each room had a prayer theme and symbols to help in focusing on that theme: Schedules were arranged so that each person could have the room completely empty as they entered. For those who were able to take part it was a very meaningful experience and was received with much enthusiasm.

During this Lenten season everyone in this praying church will hopefully be able to find a place of solitude for sometime each day. Be still and know that God has words for you. The church is always open during office hours, but with

a little extra effort probably a quiet area can be found in your own home. This time of quiet is always good for the Christian’s soul, and can become a good habit after this practice for six weeks. Our prayers are always heard, as we know, and so often on Sunday mornings we hear such praises to God’s great mercy for all of us.

There are many prayer needs in our church family and in this community as we know. Let’s unite with God and each other during this special season and see what new miracles God has in store for us.
